Take a free ride of newly constructed MRT Phase I (Semantan-Sungai Buloh)

Hello everybody! Public transportation system is rather important to define success or failure of country’s city planning. Without public transportation, it will let us, the citizen to be so inconvenient to reach a destination let alone the tourists who want to travel in a city. Thus, it can’t be neglected that a systematic public transportation in a city (especially a metropolitan or a tourist spot) will make the country’s tourism sector thriving.

Recently, Our PM just launched the opening ceremony of the The Klang Valley MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang (Mass Rapid Transit) line Phase I on 16th December 2016. Although MRT Phase I only from Sungai Buloh to Semantan, but it is free for the public to take the ride (from 16th Dec 2016 to 17th Jan 2017). The construction of Phase II (Muzium Negara to Kajang) of MRT will be completed on July 2017. After this great master plan of developing our country’s public transportation in the hustle and bustle metropolitan (Klang Valley), it will bring in more job opportunities and development of property and commerce sector in that specific area.

Due to the newly constructed finished MRT Phase I is having a trial period for the public to take a free ride, so I spared out some of my time to take this long ride (All the way from Semantan to Sungai Buloh).

How to get to there? If you are around the KL town center, firstly you take any buses to go to KL central, then wait for a Feeder Bus to go to the Semantan MRT station.

Here are some of the photos of this journey…

Sungai Buloh station is also an Interchange Station to the KTM rail line. So, this is the view of the KTM rail line.

In conclusion, I like this newly constructed MRT public transport as its coaches are huge compared to the LRT Kelana Jaya and Sri Petalling line. This is able to accommodate more commuters during the peak hours where lots of people are rushing to work or back home from working place. If our country’s public transportation becoming more systematic, automatically more people are convinced to take public transport to a destination and yet environmental pollutions that occur in Malaysia possibly will be reduced.

Water Disruption in Klang Valley until Christmas Eve.

Hello everybody! Water disruption is an important issue as it will be inconvenient for our life. Since we, human beings are being dependent on water for the survival, what if there are no water supply occur? Our live will be worsen and terrible as hell.

Recently there is water disruption in Klang Valley that commenced on yesterday (19th December 2016) to 24th December 2016. In a news report, it stated that there was roughly 60% of the Klang Valley residents are affected with this situation. The areas such as Klang, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Selangor in Klang Valley are affected with this situation. That also means that around 3.9 millions water users in the Klang Valley will be affected by this schedule water disruption.

Similarly, in that news report, it said that disruption will be due to maintenance works carried out by Tenaga Nasional Berhad, TNB (The solely electric supplier in Malaysia) to install a protective arc system at the main entrance of the Bukit Badong substation in Hulu Selangor on Dec 19. The water disruption due to the work is expected to last for 16 hours, from 8am till the midnight.

Despite of some residents and business operators are complaining on this situation, they do also have to continue their daily life, anyway. They have to save water by filling it into numerous of the pails for the daily activities purpose. Also, it is undeniably true that some of them ought to fork out money to buy mineral water or RO water since they already used up of their water. Besides, this does also hit hard the eatery stall operators are they keep using water for cooking and serving food purpose. By this scheduled water disruption, some of them have been compelled to close operation temporary or shorten their operating time. However, some of them still being lucky to continue to operate their business in these few days as they had already prepared the worse by storing pails of water. Thus, water disruption has crippled our daily life.

Storing water...
So, it is also advised to not to waste too much of water in these days. As water wastage will cause your life to be a burden during the days of no water supply.

My Perak Trip 2016

Hello everybody! It’s been about 6 months I didn’t update my blogger. So, It is time to update it now… This December holiday, my family and I travelled to Perak State (A state in Northern Malaysia Peninsular). We travelled through several places in Perak such as Teluk Intan, Ipoh and Taiping. Without further ado, now I will talk about my experience in this memorable trip.

Day 1 (9/12/16) – Travel to Bidor and Teluk Intan.

We began our journey by 1:30pm

We passed by a small town – Bidor, Perak. Bidor is a small town that located nearby the North South Expressway. Bidor is also about 86km away from Ipoh and 32km away from Teluk Intan

After a while, we arrived to Teluk Intan, Perak. Teluk Intan is the 3rd largest city in Perak state and It is about 118km away from Ipoh and 48km away from Sabak Bernam (A small town in Northern part of Selangor state).

View of Teluk Intan from Menara Condong Teluk Intan
Menara Condong Teluk Intan (Leaning Tower) is one of the historical architecture in Malaysia.  The tower was built under the guidance of contractor Leong Choon Chong in 1885 and its purpose is to store water for the locals during droughts season and it also functions as a clock tower. This architecture makes the town has its own uniqueness.

During British colonial times, Teluk Intan was also known as Anson Bay, where at the time it functioned as a major port that used to export tin ore and rubber. However,  in these days, it did lose its own function as a port and turned into a tourism spot.

Day 2 – Ipoh one day trip

Around 9.30am (The time we finished having breakfast), we went to several  locations in Ipoh such as…
Concubine lanes
These concubine lanes have history that goes all the way back to 1892, when parts of Ipoh Old Town were rebuilt after a fire in 1892.  The Concubine Lanes were part of the rebuilt and were owned by mining tycoon Yao Tet Shin.  He gave away the houses on the lanes to his three wives, and hence the locals named the lanes accordingly – Wife Lane, Concubine Lane and First Concubine Lane.  There’s another version of story where common folklore has it that these were also the lanes where rich men hid their second wives.
