Kuantan is a very beautiful place, but now...

Hello everybody! Have you ever heard Kuantan this place in Malaysia? Kuantan is the capital city of the Pahang State in Malaysia. It is also the largest city in Pahang state. It has lots of beautiful beaches such as in Teluk Cempedak, Cherating and so on… Besides, it also has a lucrative of minerals resources (in the Pahang state) especially the rare earth, bauxite, tin, gold… Wait a minute, have you read the news regarding the environmental issues that caused by mining activity at that place?

There are a few of mining activities in Kuantan that raising people to against it. Here are 2 examples from the mining activities:

Lynas opened Lynas Advance Materials Power Plant (LAMP) in Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang in April 2011

Back in April 2011, Lynas (An Australian mining company) opened LAMP in Gebeng, Kuantan. They came over because here had rare earth for their power plant and the costs were cheaper compared to their own country. Moreover, Malaysian government later also granted the company ‘pioneer’ status and offered them 12-year tax exemption so that it could operate in Malaysia. However, many people began to against Lynas setting up rare earth power plant in Kuantan especially those lived nearby there. This is due to the reason that they concerned the rare earth power plant will bring many side effects to their health (rare earth are hazardous) . The Kuantan MP, Fuziah Salleh also expressed her concerned on the parliament as well. Later, the group of Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas (SMSL) which formed by many kuantan community groups began to protest against the Lynas and Lamp. Wong Tack, leader of SMSL held the ‘Himpunan Hijau’ to stop Lynas from operating rare earth power plant in Malaysia.

Recently, I read a news from newspaper that bauxite mining activities in Felda Bukit Goh, Kuantan caused the nearby city to be like in “Mars”.
Bauxite mining activities in Felda Bukit Goh, Kuantan, Pahang

Kuantan recently has become the hub of mineral resources (this time is Bauxite) for the mining company. The bauxite mining activity increased in the state as the demand from China increased after Indonesia banning exportation of bauxite in early 2014. This made Malaysia to be biggest exporter of bauxite to China. China are demanding for bauxite because the bauxite is the raw material of Aluminum in producing air craft body frame, vehicle body frame as well as ship. However, the environmental problem arose when the bauxite dust wash into river then to the sea when there is heavy rain. This make many beautiful beaches are polluted. For instance, Pantai Batu Hitam (a beach somewhere in Kuantan) was polluted because the seaside are turning into crimson color (perhaps it is caused by bauxite dust?) This totally causing tourists ‘running away’ from the seaside and the hotel owners there are losing profit.

Since the rivers are full of bauxite dust, the river water is contaminated. The aquatic animals also die because of the contaminated water. So, the Health Minister, Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam told the people do not drink the water from the polluted rivers even though it is boiled and do not consume the fishes from the rivers as well. This is because the heavy metals in the water are danger to the human health (in long term may cause Alzheimer’s diease.). Besides, the Enviroment and Natural Resources Minister, Datuk seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, has called for the 3 month of moratorium for the Mining Companies (starting from 15th January) in order for them to clean up the polluted sites. He also called the mining companies to clear out the bauxite stockpiles in the Kuantan Port within 7 day.

The view of the seaside where nearby the Kuantan Port...

As you can see everyday the lorry go in and out from the mining sites has caused the road to be in crimson color...

In a conclusion, I think the government should think twice regarding the pros and cons of the mining or development activities in Malaysia. Yup, the mining and development is good for our country and making us money as well as job opportunity, but do you think about the side effects? It is too late for us to respond towards the issue after the environment is polluted and people’s health is devastated. So, we must preserve the environment when developing or mining in order to give assurance for the people’s health

What are the purposes we study for? In order to get better result only?

Hello everybody! Every day we may ask ourselves what’s the purpose we born in this world? Is it merely for us keep studying to achieve flying colors results? Sometimes, we may occasionally as well envy those people who did terribly in academic performance but still could manage to make lots of money. Why they still could manage to make money? Why? This is because they are applying the knowledge outside from the textbook in their life (some also applies knowledge from outside and inside of the textbook.). We can see that Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates, who dropped out from college still succeeded to become the famous public figure around the world as he used his skill in IT to develop the computer software that nowadays people frequently using it. Back to the topic again, what’s the purpose we study? In order to get better result only?

After watching LimShang Jin (a Malaysian youtuber) videos, I realized that getting better result not necessary worth it anymore. This is because the world has changed, nowadays the people are more and more competitive in the society. As you can see, each and everybody tend to fight each other in order to be most influenced and successful person among the society. Many people nowadays are get educated well, living well unlike our previous generation who striving hard to get educated in order to obtain the high positioned job. Therefore, after you graduated from any higher education institutions with flying colors, you are just only one of the graduates that finding a normal job in a street. For example, it is hard for us (the graduates) to find job as they are also others graduates who have better qualifications (like working experience) than us. Some now getting employed for a full time job already difficult, let alone finding part time job (some more our country’s economy are recessing…).

However, in contrast, without getting educated will cause us hard to survive in the society as well. For instance, we will not completely understand on how to read, write and count if we didn’t sent to primary school or elementary school since we are kids. Besides, if we didn’t sent into the secondary school, we will definitely not understand some daily life’s skill and some basic theories regarding to science and technology. These for sure making us look down and despise by the society because we don’t even know how to solve a basic problem in daily life. Nonetheless, if we are going to tertiary school or higher education institution just letting us to study further on the specific courses. Mostly the students who want to become professionals like engineer, doctor and lawyer will go in there (but not necessary coming out to society will have perfect life.).

In a conclusion, study is good, but do not overload studying. We have to keep it balance in the aspect of academic, interpersonal skill and outdoor activities. This will guarantee us to be a holistic person who knows how to deal a problem, how to make money (after stepping into the competitive society), how to be healty…

I miss my secondary school life...

Hello everybody! Today is the school reopening day for those students who are still in primary and secondary school. Certainly, many of us will be reluctantly going back to school when the school is reopened (the 1st day of school in every year…) because they don’t want to meet an abundance of homework, very stringent teachers as well as school life. The typical student’s school life are wake up early morning, going back home afternoon, attending tuition class and do homework repeating every day in same routine. However, still some students like going back to school because they are meet their best friends and study together to get flying colors result. Frankly, back to the main topic, secondary school life is paramount important because it gives us golden opportunity to widen our social circles. So, let’s talk about the things that make me miss secondary school life.

There are lots of things make me miss secondary school life…
•    I miss the days we no need to thing about earning money.
•    I miss the days we can be friends easily in school compound (now it’s hard to get best friends in society…)
•    I miss the days we just need to keep studying, haha (a typical student’s role in school…)
•    I miss the days teachers still patiently guiding us when we don’t understand on those questions. (Most seniors say that you further study in college and form 6, the teachers will not be like that nice…)
•    I miss the days that we can break the school rules…. haha
•    I miss the days we playing in the classroom when teacher not coming into the classroom.
•    I miss the days that we sneak some foods from the canteen to eat in the classroom while the lesson is ongoing…
•    I miss the days that we (boys) always staring the girls outside the classrooms’ corridor… haha

However, time passing so fast… In a flash I’m 18 (graduated from the secondary school) haha… In the society, there are many people who being nice in front of you but ‘stabbing’ you from the behind. These kind of people are known as ‘double-face’ people. So, in order to reveal those people real face and get along with the society, I must enhance my weak communication skills when I was in secondary school.

In the end, we learn communication skill when we are in secondary school. This skill is important for us to get ourselves into society. I miss those memories that taught me lots of communication skill by doing group projects, group presentation and so forth. Besides, we must cherish the time that we are in the school because it is a good time for us to gain knowledge as the school is an institution for us to gain knowledge

Happy New Year 2016!!!

Hello everybody, it’s me again… Happy New Year guys! Today is the 1st day of the 2016 (on the Malaysian time zone GMT+8.).  Well… apparently, I think we might have some goals that we wish to accomplish in this 2016 year…  So, let me ask you a question what are your goals in 2016? Is it getting better academic performance (mostly for those students)?  Is it getting rich? Or even able to find a girlfriend or boyfriend  (that’s not my goals in 2016 lah…)? Without wasting much time let me tell you all about my goals in this new year. 2016.
I have only 4 goals that I wish to be accomplished on 2016 (hope so lah…). First and foremost, My goals in 2016 is to get another part time job before May of 2016 (because starting of the new semester of form 6, one of the higher educations in Malaysia.).  I don’t care about how much the wage is, the most important thing is I get experiences from the job (such as communication skill with the society).  I also able to do more beneficial things when I get part time job rather than stay at home doing nothing. Secondly,  I hope that I manage to loose some weight or fats in 2016. This is due to my family members especially my mother keep blaming me that I am obese (haha, actually my mass is 76kg with my height 175cm, you can find out my BMI…). The fats make me unable to wear certain clothes especially very thigh jeans. So, I want to loose some fats (just cut down about 2-5 kg. I hope so…).
Apart from that, I wish that more and more people will read my blog although it is like impossible thing to be happened. I will try my level best to refined my writing skill in order to let you all be satisfied when you all are reading my post. You do also can leave some comments (must be the constructive one lah…) on my posts so that I will rectify my mistake on my writing skill. Besides, I wish i will get rid of my bad habits, bad altitudes in the previous year 2015 (try my best...).

In conclusion, everybody has their own goals to be achieved in the new year…  So… once again I hope that we will together work hard to achieve our goals! Yes we can! We try our best! As a saying goes: “every dog has its day”. You will be successful in someday.
