Klang trip...

                Hello everybody! After I finished my STPM semester 2 exam, I’ve decided to go for some lone trip around this hustling and bustling Klang Valley.

                Last 2 week, I went to Klang for a trip right after the sem 2 exam. In fact, I had planned to go there long time ago, however, It is quite expansive for the public transport fee to reach the destination. Until recently, I have already saved enough money for this trip…

                Klang is the royal town of Selangor State in Malaysia which stituated approximately 30 km from Kuala Lumpur town centre and rougly 11km from Shah Alam (the capital city of Selangor State). Klang district has also the Malaysia’s busiest port, which is Port Klang (located west of the Klang town centre). On the other hand, Klang has about 744 062 people stay there, making it is one of the densely populated district in Selangor (density of population: 1,298/km²). Therefore, the government had decided to construct LRT 3 (LRT Bandar Utama –Klang line) in order to increase connectivity from town to town in Klang Valley.

                In the morning, I commuted LRT from BK5 station to Subang Station (which costs about RM5.00 if you use touch n go). Subang station is one of the interchange stations of LRT and KTM comuter. Therefore, I commuted the train from Subang station to Klang station which costs RM 2.60 (touch n go price).

                After I arrived there, I went to a prestigious chinese kopitiam in Klang town center (nearby the KTM station). Its name is Chong KoK Kopitiam.

                Then, I simply order their roti bakar and teh tarik there because I am hungry at that time. The roti bakar costs RM2.60 and the tarik costs RM 1.20 (the the tarik is cheaper than in other parts of Klang Valley). Honestly, their roti bakar sangat perfect, the kaya in the roti bakar memang really good to taste. However, the the tarik very common, just like in the mamak stall one…

                After finish eating there, then I cincai took free bus Selangor to tour around the Klang town centre as well as Pandamaran. Pandamaran is a chinese village nearby Port Klang and town centre. There has also lots of the Bak Kut Teh restaurant for you to patronize there (I didn’t go to the bak kut teh restaurant because I don’t have enough money to buy Bak Kut Teh).

                That ride took about an hour to tour around the town. Following that, I was going back to the town centre (nearby the KTM station) and loitering around the streets in the town centre…  Then, I go back to home…

                Lastly, this year the Majlis Perbandaran Klang (MPK) is hosting the campaign of “Tahun Melawat Klang 2017” in order to boost the tourism sector there. So, don’t forget to visit there if you have ample of free time. Soon, I will update for part 2 of this blog post...

Today is the active and productive day for me.

Hello everybody! Today is the active and productive day for me as I exercised a lot today. I participated my school (SMK Batu 8) road run event and played futsal for the first time with a gang of friends.

Today (25/1/17) my school organized the road run event. That event is actually wanted to do on (14/1/17) but it postponed till today due to the Indian Ponggal Festival celebration on that day. Fortunately, this activity is still able to carry on today although currently we’re facing the rainy season in this area. 

Although this 4km road run is making me so tired, but I still felt so happy as I was able to run longer than before. Normally, I never being able to have lot stamina to run for a long distance until recently I am gaining weight until 90kg. This motivates me to do more exercise by jogging in every weekend or occasionally during school holidays. That’s why I have such stamina to run for a long distance.

After that road run event ended, I was invited by my friends to go ‘makan’ in Chinese kopitiam (Usually I rarely join my friends to go outside ‘makan’ as I only like to stay at home or travel to KL or PJ alone).

In conclusion, today is a productive day for me. It is better than staying at home to keep studying every day. Besides, I also learn some technique to play futsal although I am currently just a noobie futsal player (In Malay: Kaki Bangku).

Take a free ride of newly constructed MRT Phase I (Semantan-Sungai Buloh)

  Hello everybody! Public transportation system is rather important to define success or failure of country’s city planning. Without public transportation, it will let us, the citizen to be so inconvenient to reach a destination let alone the tourists who want to travel in a city. Thus, it can’t be neglected that a systematic public transportation in a city (especially a metropolitan or a tourist spot) will make the country’s tourism sector thriving.

  Recently, Our PM just launched the opening ceremony of the The Klang Valley MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang (Mass Rapid Transit) line Phase I on 16^th December 2016. Although MRT Phase I only from Sungai Buloh to Semantan, but it is free for the public to take the ride (from 16^th Dec 2016 to 17^th Jan 2017). The construction of Phase II (Muzium Negara to Kajang) of MRT will be completed on July 2017. After this great master plan of developing our country’s public transportation in the hustle and bustle metropolitan (Klang Valley), it will bring in more job opportunities and development of property and commerce sector in that specific area.

   The Klang Valley MRT project was also made an Entry Point Project of the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) under the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley National Key Economic Area (NKEA). The ETP is being implemented by the The Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) of the Prime Minister’s Department.

  Due to the newly constructed finished MRT Phase I is having a trial period for the public to take a free ride, so I spared out some of my time to take this long ride (All the way from Semantan to Sungai Buloh). 

How to get to there? If you are around the KL town center, firstly you take any buses to go to KL central, then wait for a Feeder Bus to go to the Semantan MRT station.

  In conclusion, I like this newly constructed MRT public transport as its coaches are huge compared to the LRT Kelana Jaya and Sri Petalling line. This is able to accommodate more commuters during the peak hours where lots of people are rushing to work or back home from working place. If our country’s public transportation becoming more systematic, automatically more people are convinced to take public transport to a destination and yet environmental pollutions that occur in Malaysia possibly will be reduced.
